R.I.P. 2Pac The Fish 1998(?)-2006

December 28th, 2006 | 10:41 am cdt

2Pac The Fish passed away last night after a long and fruitful life. 2Pac grew up at Hess Hall at the University of Tennessee where she resided in the front desk fish tank. It’s unknown how many years 2Pac lived at the front desk before I adopted her my sophomore year as a means of rescuing the other fish from her. After an eventful but hardening stay at UT, 2Pac moved to Nashville to live out the rest of her days. 2Pac lived to be at least 8 or 9 years old, but could be much older. She tried to attack everyone she met, people, cats, and dogs included. 2Pac had more personality than most other animals. Unfortunately, it was quite a mean spirited one. A brief memorial service was held this morning at Percy Priest Lake in LaVergne. 2Pac is survived by her best(and only) friend, Biggie The Chinese Algae Eater.

VMware Fusion

I’ve only used VMware Fusion long enough to start up Ubuntu and take this screenshot, but everything has run smoothly. Easy virtual machine setup with support for both cores is most excellent.

Snowball Fight

December 18th, 2006 | 10:44 pm cdt

Smack your friends upside the head. For the last month I’ve been immersed with the rest of the TapeOnline crew in developing a Flash based game for the holiday season. This is my first game created with Flash, as well as my first expierence with an intense amount of ActionScript.

If nothing else, listen to the theme song we composed, but I encourage you go for a high score as well. Play Snowball Fight.

Tennessee Traffic Cameras Widget

December 17th, 2006 | 10:43 am cdt

Just wanted to announce the availability of the Tennessee Traffic Cameras widget for all you OS X users living and dealing with Tennessee traffic.

Tennessee Traffic Cameras

TDOT makes available many traffic cameras on their website, but it’s less than easy to try and navigate their system. Hopefully this widget will provide an easy way to view cameras in your city, all in one simple interface.

Also a big thanks to Jimmy’s l337 JavaScript skills which saved me from hours and hours of suffering.

You can download the widget from the Tennessee Traffic Cameras website.

Just a $1.00

December 8th, 2006 | 11:15 pm cdt

Target had some old TV shows for sale on DVD for only a $1.00. I picked up some old Johnny Carson featuring Carson’s Cellar and the Johnny Carson Show. I also found Santa Clause Conquers the Martians(bought purely to see just how bad it could be), but that disc also included some old cartoons including an old Superman episode. Very good stuff.
